Kenny Flowers

Resort-wear DTC · USA

Eightx runs the finance function for Kenny Flowers, the Charleston-based resort-wear brand founded by Kenny Haisfield, recently profiled by the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center, supporting ongoing operations of its Charleston flagship and high-profile licensing collabs including Margaritaville and McLaren.

The company

Kenny Flowers is a resort and vacation-wear brand built around bold, original tropical prints. The brand was founded by Kenny Haisfield, publicly profiled by the Nasdaq Center for the way he's built it from a DTC start into a multi-channel lifestyle business with retail, wholesale, and collab revenue.

The problem

DTC resort-wear is brutal cash-flow math: seasonal inventory builds, long lead times, retail expansion with up-front fit-out costs, collab production runs that don't always land in the same period as the revenue. The brand needed a CFO who could hold the cash math together through the growth, not someone bookkeeping the past.

What we did

  • Fractional CFO leadership, weekly cadence with Kenny and his ops team
  • Cash-flow management and forecasting through the working-capital crunches that come with seasonal product launches
  • Inventory and COGS modelling across the original-print product line
  • Retail unit economics modelling for the Charleston flagship's ongoing operations
  • Collab P&L work for licensing-style partnerships (Margaritaville, McLaren), different unit economics than DTC core
  • Lender stack management, sourcing and negotiating the working-capital facilities a seasonal apparel business actually needs

What changed

  • Stable lending relationship secured. A working-capital facility right-sized for a seasonal apparel business, sourced and negotiated through the engagement, gave the brand consistent inventory funding through every product launch.
  • Multi-channel revenue. DTC + retail + collabs (Margaritaville, McLaren), with the finance function holding the cash math together across all three.
  • Founder public profile. Kenny went from operator to publicly-profiled founder (Nasdaq Center, Rolling Stone, Charleston Magazine), finance held the back-end so he could front-end the brand.
